PHILOSOPHY:
It is never too late to begin exercising for better health.
I like to make the workouts fun and innovative as well as challenging.
BACKGROUND – Richard Greifinger:
Exercise and fitness has been a passion of mine for the majority of my life. Before high school and into college I competed in track and field as well as cross-country. After college, I competed in middle distance road races. I am fortunate to have trained under some of the best coaches in the country as a member of the Santa Monica Track Club.
My career path out of college took me into sales for many years. In 2006, I merged my love for working with people and my love for fitness by becoming a personal trainer. I completed a 500-hour practical and classroom course at the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI), became certified, and passed the National Strength and Conditioning Association exam (NSCA), which is one of the most respected of the National Certifications.
Personal training is very rewarding and helping people attain their fitness goals is awesome.
My primary specialty is in-home training for older adults. Fitness levels are from the beginner to the active retired. I am also comfortable training in a private studio setting.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- NSCA-CPT
- NPTI Certification
- CPR qualified
- Bachelor’s Degree, Psychology, Cal State Northridge
- Attend continuing education seminars
- Read fitness articles
My primary specialty is in-home training, but I also have a local studio location. The workouts are a challenge, but are fun and innovative. In addition to the Denver metro area I serve nearby Colorado communities including Parker, Castle Rock, Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree.
What do the personal trainer certifications mean to You?:
HSCA-CPT
The NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) certification was developed in 1993 for professionals who work one-on-one with their clients in a variety of environments, including health/fitness clubs, wellness centers, schools and clients’ homes. The exam thoroughly tests the knowledge and skills that are necessary to successfully train both active and sedentary physically healthy individuals, as well as individuals with special needs.
NPTI Certification
The NPTI program consists of 500 hours of training over a six month period including 50 hours of simulated personal training sessions. Some of the major areas that are covered include: 145 hours of Personal Training program design, 100 hours of Anatomy & Physiology, and 100 hours of Nutrition.
